And when He was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee. And Jesus went in to the temple of God, and CAST OUT all them that SOLD and BOUGHT in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of them that sold doves, and said unto them, It is written My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves! Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17, and Luke 19:46.
Who may pray is mentioned several times in scripture, as are the things we ought to pray for. ANYONE who JOINS HIMSELF to the Lord, may pray. The sons of strangers, and the eunuchs, “Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people. Isaiah 56:7.
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and disease among the people. But when He saw the MULTITUDES, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith He to his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest. Matthew 9:35 to 38.
Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. John 4:35.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:41 and 42.
Cultivating a regular time for prayer is critical in our relationship with our Heavenly Father. We need to pray alone with God, with family, (if we are blessed to have this), and in our Fellowship gatherings. Prayers should not be overly loud, long, or in anyway lack dignity. It is better to be still before God, quietly in worship, confessing our sins, and considering the awe of being in the throne room before God washed in the blood of The Lamb, than to speak to be heard by men. This, is communing with God.
Our Father knows what we have need of, so it is good to think of those things our Father has made known we ought to pray for, and then pray in line with our Father’s Divine Will.
Our Father truly knows what we will ask Him for, before we utter a word!
We will never make a mistake approaching our Heavenly Father with praise, in sincere, repentant, thanksgiving, for His unspeakable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15. Amen.
