The prelude to this brief study, “Understanding Daniel” being complete, we may now examine “Christmas”, (and Easter for this matter), to confirm what many have always understood to be commercialized pagan “festivals”, that these ‘festivities’ are far removed from our Christian faith! We have gone along these “Holy Days”, (holidays), which have been foisted on humanity for many centuries, not really sure whether we are truly in the faith keeping these spending frenzied “feasts”, or not. The Truth told we have been kept in the dark, and actually do not realize what we are doing! Approaching this study with the knowledge global deception is rampant, we need Truth to rule our actions, rather than be a people who simply “go with the flow”.
Enough has been published, (and distributed), concerning the association of these “festivals” with Satanism and the Occult! The idea of this brief study is to narrow down the reality of Yeshua HaMassiach’s birth date to celebrate this in Spirit and in Truth, to discern The Truth, so we may walk in The Truth, abide in The Truth, and spread The Truth.
Before we embark on this short journey, it is best to mention the idea is not to think we can work out our Lord Jesus’ date of birth when so many scholars have tackled this task to conclude it is impossible with the evidence available. The idea is to stimulate thinking for men to realize and understand Christmas and Easter, are not in any way Christian festivals! Apart from being completely out of sync with Hebrew Christian calendar events, Christ Mass is Roman Catholic! Roman Catholicism is a merger of Paganism and Christianity that can never be reconciled with Scripture! Those who believe they are Christian because they are Catholic or celebrate Christ Mass, whether Catholic or Protestant, are seriously deceived! When our knowledge of The Truth has fully matured from our studies in The Word, it becomes more than evident Roman Catholicism is Antichrist, so much so, they, Daniel 7:25, have for many decades dropped “Christmas”, to now say, Xmas!
These subtilies are overlooked by many who niavely accept what is “dished up” as “the norm”! Without personal study to test what they believe or support financially, the reality is that they support Antichrist’s war against Christianity! Daniel 7:21. James chapter 4 is explicit concerning wars and fightings, that they come from the lusts that war in our members. James continues that we have not because we ask amiss, and are clearly involved in things we ought not to be involved in to conclude, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God” James 4:4.
We must understand the world is governed by men drunk with greed, ‘men’ who have purposefully kept the world in ignorance! Knowledge has been withheld from humanity! Knowledge has been destroyed, and held in unrighteousness! Romans 1:18. The world has been “commercialized”, brain washed through control of the media to think in a manner that suits Antichrist’s hidden agenda, and Christ Mass, Easter, and Halloween, are all part of this controlled ignorance! Because “everyone does it”, does not make it right! To be brief and to the point, keeping Christmas, Easter, and Halloween, declare gross ignorance of REAL Christian values! Such as keep these pagan feasts are actually supporting our enemy, The Antichrist!
If you have come straight to this page being the present focus of your personal studies, it is important to know Daniel is the backbone of prophetic detail in Scripture! As Matthew 24 is “the spine”, (so to speak), of prophecy in the New Testament, so Daniel is the foundation of prophetic detail in the Old Testament. To begin, there are five major indisputable facts about The Book of Daniel which are:
- It is history foretold, which is prophecy!
- It is centred around the Messianic Dispensation of The Kingdom of God, and when this should occur!
- It is clear concerning THE WAR that has prevented The Kingdom of God filling the whole earth, and
- It is ALL ABOUT MESSIAH, and the end of Antichrist! Moreover,
- It is PROOF that Scripture interprets Scripture, alleviating all men of individual interpretive responsiblity!
The matter of interpretation having caused so many doctrinal problems through division, it is well we make the following abundantly clear. Man has no right to tell God what things mean in His Word, or how things should be done! We have been told what to do, how to do it, Micah 6:8, and what will happen if we do not do it God’s way, Eden, and Israel being perfect examples! It is truly up to man to simply learn God’s Truth from the Scriptures, and either accept, or reject their teachings!
Predicting the coming of Messiah with great accuracy, it is not unthinkable that Daniel, read with the rest of scripture, might provide clues to giving us a reasonably accurate date of Christ’s Messiah’s birth! Hopefully, if anyone has information from The Word, both Old and New Testaments, they will sieze this opportunity to share, so we may all learn together.
We now know from our research to “Understand Daniel”, our Lord “began to be about thirty years of age“, when He was baptised of John. Luke 3:23. This safely places our Lord at least 29 years old, because after 29, one begins to be thirty. This fact places John at approximately 29 and a half at the youngest, when he baptised our Lord.
We also know from our research to “Understand Daniel”, that we have the year 26 AD pegged for Messiah’s baptism in Daniel’s prophecy of Seventy Weeks, and this at the age of at least 29 years old! 29 minus 26 places Messiah’s birth in the year 3 BC. Now, when the year starts and ends, and which calendar should be used are all relevant to our cause, however we will remain with the Gregorian universal calendar for the moment to keep things simple.
Sifting through the vague Google dates opening wide the doors for speculative conclusions, and possibly doubtful disputations, AND an enormous amount of deliberate misinformation rendering an already unreliable AI “service” useless for our undertaking, we may learn from Google that Herod’s slaughter of the innocents was between 7 and 2 BC. The latter is more likely, as the three wise men are said to have visited Bethlehem around the year 3 BC.
This information now correlates to a Google search concerning consensus among astronomers of which conjuction of planets was most likely seen as “The Star of Bethlehem”, and the answer is the conjuction of Venus and Jupiter which merged in June 3 BC!
Given the wise men would have travelled at least a month from Persia, India, and Arabia, (it is said), to see “the young child with his mother”, Matthew 2:11, brings us to July possibly the beginning of August at the earliest. If our Lord was born when the conjunction peaked in June, he would have been between about 5 or 6 weeks old when the wise men found Him, but this is unlikely for a number of reasons.
We can begin to deduce this from a month of travel, possibly 2 weeks of inquiry, and seeing Herod who, eager to learn the whereabouts of the newborn King of the Jews, had summoned the three wise men to his court. We must note that the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter would last “for most of the following year”, so this was not a celestial event like a meteorite. The Magi followed the star till it stood over the house in Bethlehem. Matthew 2:9. They had come because they had seen His star! Matthew 2:2.
According to the astronomical data, the star would have been seen as a conjunction at its brightest around June in the year 3 BC, and we may note Herod inquired diligently as to this of the three wise men. Matthew 2:7. The closest most reliable clues we have thus far, are therefore:
- The appearance of The Star of Bethlehem, and
- The Prophecy of Seventy Weeks, pointing to the year of our Lord’s baptism at the age of at least 29 years.
We should emphasise the baptism of our Lord by John was the moment the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove, and God declared from heaven, “Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased”. Luke 3:23. This event fixes Messiah’s age as beginning to be thirty in the year 26 AD, from our most reliable source, The Scriptures!
Our Lord’s age at the time of His death and resurrection is therefore no longer a mystery. Being 29 years of age in 26 AD, would mean our Lord was 36 years old when He was crucified in 33 AD.
33 AD – 26 AD = 7 and 29 years + 7 years = 36 years.
Narrowing our Lord’s date of birth down to possibly the month, are the following facts as these appear in Scripture. The additional evidence our Lord was born in the summer of the year 3 BC is found in Luke chapter two. The census in Bethlehem, reportedly conducted between August and October in the year 3 BC, offers a considerable amount of information.
“And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor in Syria.) And all went to be taxed, everyone to his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which was called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel of the Lord said unto them, fear not, for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger”. Luke 2:1 to 12.
Getting the news that Rome required one to travel to another city 150 kilometers away with a very pregnant wife, would have required some planning. The journey would have had to be done on foot, and would have required water and provisions. It is not unthinkable that a donkey with a cart would have been required, to carry the load of a tent, clothes, blankets, food and clothing. The journey at best with a woman not far from giving birth, would have taken at least two weeks.
Now the star was at its brighest in the midsummer of the year 3 BC around June, and sometime between June and July the news would have been received that the journey would have to be made to attend the taxing census between August and October. Given the distance and the circumstances Joseph had to confront, it is likely preparations to leave as soon as possible were made. He would have surely travelled in a group for protection from thieves and wild animals to arrive in Bethlehem on time in August 3 BC. It was the census, and Bethlehem was bustling with people. There was no room at the inn. We can say with some certainty, it most likely could have been in the first week of August 3 BC at the earliest.
From here the story unfolds that the shepherds found the babe in a manger, as the angel of the Lord had said, and went and told the matter abroad. After eight days the baby Jesus was circumcised, and then 33 days later, Luke 2:22, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to be presented to the Lord according to the law of Moses. The wise men then saw the young child with His mother, at about 6 weeks old, and went home another route. Joseph was instructed to flee into Egypt, and obeys! Joseph packs up, and leaving at night, takes his family and travels approximately 350 kilometers into Egypt. Herod the Great then dies in the year 1 BC, and Joseph, Mary, and the very young child Jesus, probably beginning to be 4 years old at the most, return to their family in Nazareth.
These Biblical facts place the birth of Christ our Lord, anytime between the middle of August, and the middle of September in the year 3 BC. There is no other conclusion, and to the best of our knowledge presently, there is no evidence other than the evidence we have examined.
If we take the mean, (average), we could say our Lord Jesus Christ was born on the 31st of August, or the 1st of September in the year 3 BC, according to the Gregorian Calendar. What becomes very interesting in our research, (and again there have been no contributions), is what Hebrew feasts might have been celebrated around this time, and what signifcance any Hebrew Feast might have in respect of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?
Demonstrating the incredible accuracy of The Book of Daniel, our Lord was crucified to become The Passover Lamb on Passover 14 Nisan 3793, in the Gregorian Calendar year 33 AD. This date of our Lord’s offering of Himself as the Passover Lamb of God being firmly established from the prophecy of seventy weeks, and further evidence we have gathered from The Word, it is not unthinkable that with 14 Nisan 3793 being the middle of the Seventieth Week to the very hour in history, that this remarkable precision in Daniel’s prophecy renders it quite possible for our Lord to have been born on a highly significant Hebrew Feast day!
Google duly consulted in respect of “What Hebrew feasts occur around August September” yielded an incredible truth! Yom Kippur, The DAY OF ATONEMENT!
Sending shivers into one’s being, we would ask the genuine Jew and Christian a question. Do we as God’s so dearly loved creation not think it appropriate to celebrate the birth of Christ, even the goodness of God made flesh, and BEING IN OUR MIDST in the person of The HOLY Spirit, that this unspeakable gift be celebrated with a day of reflection? Indeed, Paul taught that we should keep the feasts!
Rather than attempt to calculate a corresponding Gregorian date, which for a number of reasons will produce conflicting answers, it is thought better to follow God’s lunar Calendar with the Jews, and to keep the Day of Atonement! If we wish to celebrate the birth of Christ, it would be this day that His disciples would revere and honour rather than a Roman Catholic date to celebrate the rebirth of the sun!
We know and understand to have ceased from our works to attain salvation makes every day a sabbath rest for those in Christ! However, if we wish to regard one day above another, Romans 14:6, it would please God to celebrate the birth of His Son annually on The Day of Atonement! This is a matter for individuals to consider and answer within themselves.
The independent calculations to determine the Gregorian dates of our Lord Jesus Christ’s date of birth, death, and resurrection, use only Lunar and Solar astronomical data. The passage of time being in excess of 1900 years however, presents the difficulty that the Gregorian compensation for leap years, departs from Lunar and Solar adjustments as used by the Jews. We may for example be able to say 3rd April is indeed the Gregorian date for 14 Nisan in the year 3 BC, however the elapsed years since, and the accumulative compensation applied does not put 14 Nisan on the 3rd of April every year on the universal calendar. Therefore to keep a Gregorian date is impractical. Moreover it has proved a waste of time to work these out for the following reasons.
Too much conflicting data from various calendar convertors exists, and computer AI systems, are only as good as the information their operators feed into their data base! One has to be truly careful to structure one’s questions to get reasonably intelligent answers from computers connected to the world wide web, and all too often, AI answers do not satisfy the ardent researcher. Certainly it may be stated as fact that as at the turn of the year 2025, AI has a long way to go, and is as yet hopelessly untested and inaccurate. This data can NOT be relied upon. Several factors contribute to this beginning with a hidden Vatican agenda to preserve the world in ignorance and confusion.
- The Vatican has changed times and laws. Daniel 7:25. Calendars and Sabbaths have been changed.
- Humanity has long since been conditioned to think inaccurately.
- The astronomical data and consequent compensations concerned when converting dates is highly intricate.
- Testing date convertors found on the internet have not been consistent for the above reasons.
Consultation with Google regarding “What was the Gregorian date of Yom Kippur in the year 3 BC”? Google replied, “September 12, 3 B.C. Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), Tishri 10, 3759″. Whilst impressive, it was tested a few days later and offered another date as being the 17th September for Tishri 10 in the year 3 BC. So which is it to be?
To be pragmatic, the whole purpose of delving into these matters is to,
- Learn the truth
- Find consensus
- Experience unity
- Invoke God’s blessing in our forthcoming Holy convocations!
Importantly, incredible as this may seem, despite having no evidence to substantiate the Day of Atonement as the actual birth date of Christ our Lord, it nevertheless is in the vicinity of the scholars educated estimates! Furthermore, having examined the Scriptures to discover their precision, it is not an impossibility that our Lord was born on the Day of Atonement!
Real Christians therefore, who have removed their feet from evil to become “The Called Out”, Ecclesia in Greek, those who have left their worldly ways in repentance to follow Christ, who now wish to serve God in Spirit and in Truth, seeing the gross errors of Xmas, Easter, and Halloween, and wishing to shun their former paganistic ways to properly celebrate Christ’s birth on the closest possible day of this glorious moment for Earth, should consider making Yom Kippur their special day for this! Everyday is thanksgiving day for God’s unspeakable gift of His only begotten Son, but keeping Yom Kippur with the Jews, should be a very special Christian “celebration”. We should note Yom Kippur is not kept with turkey and a gluttoness feast, but with affliction, fasting, and mourning, for our sins that placed Christ on the cross, to bring us back to spiritual life, and into right standing with God!
Keeping THIS fast in unity with the Jews and in solidarity with God in sincere THANKSGIVING, can only inspire a MOST joyous celebration!
Asking Google, “Is Yom Kippur” a feast”? Google responded, “No, Yom Kippur is a day of fasting, prayer and reflection, not a feast, but there are some feasts that take place before and after the holiday:”
-
Pre-Yom Kippur feast
On the eve of Yom Kippur, families and friends gather for a large meal that must be finished before sunset. This meal is meant to provide strength for the 25 hours of fasting that will follow.
-
Breaking the fast
After the final Yom Kippur service, many people return home to break their fast with a festive meal. This meal often includes comfort foods like blintzes, noodle pudding, and baked goods.
-
Yom Kippur foods
Before Yom Kippur begins, it’s customary to eat a holiday meal that includes challah, or sabbath bread. The table is set with white linens and dishes, which symbolize cleansing from sins and the hope for purity and forgiveness.
Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the Jewish year. It’s a day of fasting, prayer, and reflection, and healthy Jewish adults traditionally abstain from eating, drinking, working, wearing jewelry, makeup, or leather shoes, bathing, and sexual relations”.
Asking Google is Yom Kippur regarded as a Jewish Sabbath? The answer generated was, “yes it is. No work may be done on this day!”
What day does Yom Kippur fall on in 2025? 10 Tishrei starts at sunset on 1st October and ends at sunset on 2nd October this year.
