Daniel

The Book of The Prophet Daniel has all but been completely fulfilled. Prophecying the rise and fall of the empires after the Babylonian captivity, very few verses of this remarkable prophecy now await fulfillment as the year 2024 becomes history. Regarded by scholars of The Word as the “mainstay of prophetic Scripture”, the most recent publication majoring in prophetic research has identified only five end time prophetic verses that remain outstanding before ALL of Daniel’s prophecy has come to pass as being consummate, or complete!

The central theme of Daniel is the coming of Yeshua HaMassiach, the Anointed One, The Messiah and LORD Jesus Christ, with perfect prophetic timing, to give us an approximation of when the present age will be consummated!

The five verses in the full understanding of prophetic Scripture, all relate to the end of the age! These are:

  1. Daniel 7:18  The Saints of the most high shall take The Kingdom, and Antichrist out of the way, Daniel 7:26.
  2. Daniel 9:26  The final end of Jerusalem is by flood.
  3. Daniel 11:44 Antichrist shall go forth to utterly destroy. (The second woe)
  4. Daniel 11:45 The modern day “abomination of desolation” has yet to be placed.
  5. Daniel 12:1   The Jews, with all Israel, are saved in The first resurrection!

If we examine the above five verses, Daniel 7:18 begins the end of the age, and Daniel 12:1 begins the age to come. The middle three verses all happen one after the other, but not in the chronological sequence as these appear in The Book of Daniel. If we reverse these middle three verses, we get the chronology of the last moments of this present evil age. Galatians 1:4.

  • Abomination of Desolation is finally seen. Matthew 24:15
  • Antichrist goes forth to utterly destroy. Daniel 11:44
  • Jerusalem is finally destroyed by flood. Daniel 9:26

Chronologically, events will be as follows.

  • Daniel 7:18 is taking place now as kingdom rises against kingdom. Matthew 24:7. A rise in the appearance of false christs can be expected any moment now as believers abandon false churches, to follow The Lord Jesus Christ, and His truth of The Kingdom of God coming to fill the whole Earth, for our Lord’s 2nd coming.
  • The modern day Abomination of Desolation is placed, and
  • Daniel 11:44, 2 Thessalonians 2:9 to 12, and The Revelation 11:13, Antichrist’s destruction of the deceived in the fulfillment of The 2nd Woe comes to pass, and the 3rd Woe comes quickly to fulfill
  • Daniel 9:26 in the final destruction of Jerusalem by flood!
  • Daniel 12:1  After two thirds of the Jews have perished, all Israel, is saved in The first resurrection!

Except for Daniel 7:18, and Daniel 12:1. the rest of the above Scriptures are all in the final moments of the end of the age. They are fulfilled in rapid succession starting with The Abomination of Desolation, and are one event, the end of the age, coming as a destruction from The Almighty!

The Book of Daniel follows the Historic Repetitive Style of tuition. What this means in simple terms is that Daniel is history foretold, (prophecy), and the narrative is repeated several times, each time with a little more detail. Daniel is a perfect example of this method of teaching with each successive vision adding to the information imparted in the previous vision.

It is a critical book to study. Lord Jesus reinforced this when teaching His disciples concerning the end of the age. Matthew 24:15 to 24. When studying Daniel, one may wish to check certain historic dates with Google. Whilst very helpful in certain respects, Google cannot be trusted for infallibility! For example, if you ask Google for the Gregorian Calendar date of 14 Nisan 33 AD, (which is the precise date our Lord was crucified to become The Passover Lamb of God forevermore), you will get conflicting answers. They will range from the 1st of April to the 3rd of April due to the changes in times and laws as these were introduced by The Vatican! Daniel 7:25. For instance, some date calculators do not take into account a 10 day correction introduced by Gregory XIII, whilst others possibly do. This will of course impinge on the accuracy of the result when doing calculations in respect of a book as precise as Daniel!

Prophecy has THIS further vital quality we ought to know about to understand prophetic truth from The Word. There are three phases to most of the prophecies in The Scriptures which may be understood as follows: There is the

  • Immediate Phase, also termed the Direct Application in the immediate context of The Scriptures, then the
  • Typological Phase where the Immediate Phase is a prelude to a simlar LATER event, and then the
  • Extended Typological Phase where the prophecy, after being fulfilled, again reverts to being futuristic for similar event at the end of the age, or becomes relevant to the New Dispensation.

There are many examples of this in Scripture. Daniel, presently being the most pertinent, hence our Lord Jesus Christ’s usage of Daniel when ministering to His disciples whilst yet with us as GOD in The Word made flesh, John 1:14, we will demonstrate this from Daniel chapters 10 to 12.

Daniel 10 is the account of Daniel’s fast, and the great angel comes to make him understand what is to befall his, (Daniel’s), people, (The Jews), in the latter days. Daniel 10:14. Chapter 11 then commences with the,

  • Immediate Phase, the rise of the Grecian Empire under Alexander the Great, which was later conquered by Rome in 146 BC. The Immediate Phase having been fulfilled, the narrative portrays a prelude to become the
  • Typological Phase of Antichrist’s treading down of the world until the consummation, or the end of the age, (a later event) Daniel 7:19, which now, at the beginning of the year 2025, is all but complete. This Typological Phase now  becomes the
  • Extended Typological Phase which extends Daniel’s prophecy to the very end of time, being the end of the age of Antichrist, Daniel 11:45, in the consummation of this present evil age, Galatians 1:4, to take us into the age to come, being the Kingdom of God in Daniel chapter 12. Daniel 12:2 and 3 and Daniel 12:12, and Daniel 7:18.

Notice how the culmination is already mentioned in Daniel 7:18 as Scripture follows the Historic Repetitive Style of teaching by repetition. If we hope to understand the prophetic message of Scripture thinking it is a chronological account from beginning to end, which Scripture indeed is, but without the knowledge that Scripture uses repetition to impart its message, we risk falling into error! When we reach the exasperated stage that it appears complicated and too intricate, we risk starting to make The Word fit into our own matrix of thinking, and confusion sets in! For this reason it becomes so important that we love the truth, that we seek to get intruction, and tuition from those apt to teach!

“The Genesis Prophecy”, authored by Holden S. Trueman, takes the reader through Scripture from Genesis to The Revelation to understand the true end time word of prophecy as presented by The Word of God. John 1:1. Written in layman’s language with a strong academic bias, this is a most compelling, and informative read. Concluding with a call on every nation, the work demands humanity’s response before the message the angel brought to Daniel concerning the end of the age of Antichrist and the judgment of God, impacts Earth!
